Early yesterday morning the world was all a Twitter with Favre news. It started with an executive huddle on the practice field in Mankato, MN where the Vikings hold training camp. Star Tribune beat writer Judd Zulgad said he was following the story as it started to develop the previous evening when unnamed players supposedly received text messages from Favre saying he was going to retire. The news and rumors spread like wildfire across the country, with ESPN sticking to the main headline all day that he retires…even though nothing was official. As the day went on, more news came out. Most notably from Favre friend and Vikings’ kicker Ryan Longwell who said he just talked to the Silver Fox and he said nothing of it to him. Then there was talk that the Vikes hit the panic button and were willing to offer him an extra $3 million to come back. Even Childress didn’t know what the hell was going on after the morning practice press conference, he said he’ll believe it when he hears “it from the horse’s mouth.” Today, as Brett hopped in his diesel pickup truck to leave high school football practice in Mississippi, and the horse spoke…and [...]

I don’t care, but I’m assuming you might – since the crappy show is so popular. But American Idol rumors are running more ramped than NFL free agency this off-season. Oh no Ellen quit! (she was on it?) FOX might get rid of the panel and just have “What up dawg?” do it. Is Seacrest in fact “out”? (Don’t toy with my emotions) The latest chatter this morning has Steven Tyler confirming he will be a judge. No official word on anything yet. So essentially, you just wasted 1 minute of your life reading this post. Of course that’s nothing compared to the 500+ hours of your life you wasted if you actually watched every episode of the show.
I shit you not. Hollywood brain-trusts have approved and paid for a movie that could possibly be the early front runner for Razzie of the year. Titanic II takes place 100 years after the last one ended (Did it end? I fell asleep and woke up with a Milk Dud stuck to my cheek). The premise and writing is so horrible, that the best catch phrase they could come up with to use at some point during the trailer is “…history is repeating itself”. Damn. I gotta get my ass in gear and write some movie scripts before all the good ideas are taken. Titanic II – TrailerUploaded by dreadcentral. – Watch feature films and entire TV shows.
The for some reason widely popular group Kings of Leon pulled an Axl Rose and left a show after only playing 3 songs during a concert in St. Louis last weekend. The reason for such an abrupt exit? Pigeons, who obviously had heard enough, crapped in bassist Jared Followill’s mouth. After you watch the video, you can make your donations here to help save pigeons. Tweet This Post

ESPN came out with a report that studied all of violations at stadiums nationwide. After reading it, I’m making sandwiches and packing candy-bars the next time I go to the game. Excerpt: At 30 of the venues (28 percent), more than half of the concession stands or restaurants had been cited for at least one “critical” or “major” health violation. Such violations pose a risk for foodborne illnesses that can make someone sick, or, in extreme cases, become fatal. Read it here. Tweet This Post
