Updated: Lesnar Breaks Silence on ESPN
The much buzzed about press conference that was supposed to happen today, won’t. Instead the UFC says that heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar will break his silence and appear on tomorrow’s SportCenter at 11AM ET/ 8AM PT to discuss his health and future.
Going to his official website, deathclutch.com, we found this…I think it’s a clue:
UPDATE 1/20:
As previously noted, Brock Lesnar appeared via satellite with Dana White on ESPN SportsCenter this morning to talk about his status and future. Brock confirmed his health issues (Diverticulitis, a hole in his stomach) that forced him to cancel his fight with Shane Carwin last fall and stated that he lost 40 pounds in his 11 days in a Bismark, ND hospital after escaping a Canadian hospital. Doctors in Bismark and the Mayo Clinic both said he needed to have his colon removed if it didn’t heal soon. But, being the freak of nature that he is, he went back in for a checkup on January 5th and the doctors said that he healed himself and no surgery was needed.
Dana White announced that the winner of Carwin and Mir (for the interim title) in March will face Brock this summer. If neither fighter is healthy enough after their bout, then the winner of Nogueira vs Velasquez (February 20) will get a shot at the title this summer.
Any bets on UFC coming to Minneapolis for the champs return?
